It was an actual text that I sent this weekend.
“Are you alive?”
It had been a few weeks since I had heard from this person, and I was starting to worry. It is not unusual for him and I not to speak all the time however, he did miss my husband’s birthday and is rarely on social media. Thankfully, he responded that same day and all is well.
However, this got me thinking about the people in our referral network who we may have lost touch with…
When was the last time your referral sources heard from you? Are you staying top of mind with them?
One of the tools I love from Asentiv’s Ignite Your Business program is the Networking Scorecard. This tool helps measure how well we are staying connected with our network.
My personal goal is to make sure that my top 12 referral sources “see” me at least on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This can be done through a variety of activities, whether it be social media, phone calls, emails, “How Are You Doing?” calls, sending a gift or even meeting in-person.
So, my question to you is this:
How often are you touching base with your referral sources?
(and realize you can apply this to your clients, your friends, your family, etc)
What tools are you using to stay in touch?
And, remember, social media isn’t for everyone, so that is not the only answer!
What will you do to make a conscious effort to stay connected with our referral network and ensure that we are top of mind?
